Privacy policy

What we do with your details when you request a quote, send us a message or leave a review.

Last updated on 31 August 2026Version 2026-08-31

1.Who is responsible for your detailsLink to the section Who is responsible for your details

The controller is the business named in the identification block at the foot of every page. That block carries the trading name, the company number and the contact details. They live there rather than here so that there is only one copy to keep correct.

If you have a question about this policy, or you want to exercise one of your rights, use the contact page.

2.What we collectLink to the section What we collect

For a quote request we ask for your name, email address, telephone number and the address of the work. You can add a message and photographs yourself, and you tell us when it would suit you. We also record which language you sent the request in, so that we can answer in that language.

For a message through the contact form it is your name, your email address and what you wrote. For a review it is the name you give us, your rating and your text.

We do not ask for details we do not need in order to answer you, and we do not process special categories of personal data.

3.What we use them forLink to the section What we use them for

To assess your request, work out a price, arrange a time with you and carry out the work. A booking on this site is always a request that we confirm ourselves afterwards, so nothing is fixed without a conversation with you.

If you leave a review and agree to it being published, we use your name and your text on this site. We never publish a review without that agreement.

4.The ground we rely onLink to the section The ground we rely on

We process your details on the basis of your consent, which you give with the checkbox beside the form. That box is not ticked in advance, and ticking it is your own action.

We record when you gave that consent and which version of this policy you saw at the time. The version number at the top of this page is that number.

5.Photographs of your propertyLink to the section Photographs of your property

Photographs you send serve only to work out a price. They show your home, so we treat them with more care than a name or an email address. They are stored separately, they are not publicly retrievable, and they are not used for advertising.

If we would like to show a photograph of your property in our work, we ask you separately and explicitly. Without that separate consent it does not happen.

6.Who receives your detailsLink to the section Who receives your details

We do not sell your details and we do not pass them on for advertising. To run the site we do rely on service providers who process data on our instructions. Each of them processes only what that task needs and may not use the data for their own purposes.

Vercel hosts the site and runs the requests. Neon provides the database your request is stored in. Cloudflare provides the storage for any photographs you send. Resend sends the email you receive from us.

One recipient sits outside that list and is not a processor. When we open the job's address in a map to check the route, that address goes to Google Maps. That happens at our end, in our own working environment, and never because you visited this site.

7.Transfers outside the European Economic AreaLink to the section Transfers outside the European Economic Area

Your request is stored in a database in Frankfurt, and any photographs you send sit in Cloudflare's European storage region. Both therefore stay within the European Economic Area.

Resend, which sends our email, is a United States company. The contents of an email to you may therefore be processed outside the European Economic Area. That transfer is covered by the standard data protection terms forming part of the agreement with that provider, and you can request a copy of them through the contact page.

8.How long we keep your detailsLink to the section How long we keep your details

We keep photographs of your home for 30 days. They serve only to estimate the price and no purpose after that. If you withdraw your consent, or the appointment does not go ahead, we delete them straight away rather than waiting out those 30 days.

A request that does not lead to a job we keep for 12 months. A request that does lead to a job we keep for 10 years: such a request records what was agreed and at what price, which makes it an order document we must be able to produce under Belgian accounting law.

Messages sent through the contact form we keep for 12 months. Invitations to write a review we keep for 12 months.

These periods are not only stated here. They are set in the software and applied automatically, so what this page says and what actually happens cannot drift apart.

9.Your rightsLink to the section Your rights

You have the right to see your details, to have them corrected, to have them erased, to have the processing restricted, to object to it and to receive your details in a readable file.

We answer such a request within one month. We will ask you to identify yourself first, because handing data to someone impersonating you is itself a breach.

10.Withdrawing your consentLink to the section Withdrawing your consent

You can withdraw your consent at any time, including in the middle of a live request. It is as easy to withdraw as it was to give, and it costs you nothing.

Withdrawal works forwards. What we did before you withdrew remains lawfully done.

11.Making a complaintLink to the section Making a complaint

If you are unhappy with how we handle your details, you can complain to the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, the Belgian supervisory authority. You can do that without contacting us first, although we would rather put it right with you ourselves.

12.Do you have to give us these detailsLink to the section Do you have to give us these details

No. Nothing obliges you to send a request. But without a name, an address and a way to reach you we cannot work out a price or arrange a time, so in that case we cannot deal with your request.

13.Automated decision makingLink to the section Automated decision making

There is none. Every request is read by Yarex and every price is set by Yarex. We do not build profiles of you and we do not let software decide whether you can become a customer.

14.Cookies and local storageLink to the section Cookies and local storage

This site sets no advertising cookies, uses no visitor analytics and does not follow you across other websites. There is no measurement or tracking code on these pages at all.

It does keep two things in your own browser. Your choice of the light or dark theme is remembered, and what you have typed into the quote form is held briefly so that you do not have to start again if the page closes. Both stay on your device, are not sent to us, and are not cookies.

That is why this site never asks you about cookies: there is no non-essential storage for which your consent would be needed. If you sign in to the staff area there is a sign-in cookie, which is strictly necessary to keep you signed in.

15.Changes to this policyLink to the section Changes to this policy

When we change something that matters to you, we tell you in a message that is about nothing else, and early enough that you can still act on it. We do not ask you to watch this page yourself.

Every version carries its own number. The number at the top of this page is the version that applies now.
